When I talk to clients about their personal brand or business story, they often start with the obvious: qualifications, achievements, experience. The LinkedIn-friendly highlights. The job titles. The certifications. The milestones that make us feel like we’ve “earned” the right to be trusted, listened to, or respected.
And while those things matter, they’re not the whole picture. Especially not for women.
We’ve been taught to lead with what’s measurable. To rely on external validation to back ourselves. To prove our worth by pointing to hard evidence. But often, that means we downplay the quieter, more human parts of our story; the parts that shaped us just as deeply, if not more.
The truth is, some of your greatest strengths probably won’t fit neatly in a bullet point list.
They live in the turning points you’ve navigated.
The values that guide your work.
The courage it took to pivot.
The compassion you bring to every client interaction.
The resilience you built through seasons no one saw.
The perspective only you have, because of the path you’ve walked.
That’s the feminine side of your story. And it deserves the mic, too.
Why this matters
When you show up in your business, or in your leadership role, your story is the most powerful tool you have. Not the polished version, but the one that reflects your depth, your values, and your humanity.
Because people don’t connect with credentials. They connect with you.
They trust your lived experience. They resonate with your “why.” They want to know what drives you, what you stand for, how you see the world, and how that shapes the way you show up for them.
That’s why helping women embrace the full spectrum of their story is such a huge part of my work. Because once you stop trying to sound like someone else and start speaking from your truth, your message lands deeper and your brand becomes magnetic.
How to start uncovering the feminine strength in your story
Here are some ways to start exploring the parts of your story that often go unspoken, but hold so much power:
1. Look at your turning points
What have been the moments in your life or career that changed your trajectory? They don’t need to be dramatic or public. Maybe it was a quiet decision to leave a job, start over, take a risk, set a boundary, or finally back yourself. These moments shape your perspective and build a foundation of courage that’s worth sharing.
Prompt: “One of the biggest shifts in my life was when I decided to…”
What did you learn about yourself? How does that shape the way you help others?
2. Name the strengths you feel, not just the ones you’ve been taught to prove
Start naming the traits that make you great at what you do, even if they’re hard to quantify. Things like empathy, intuition, emotional insight, generosity, patience, presence. These might not show up on a résumé, but they make all the difference in how you lead, relate, create, or guide.
Prompt: “People often tell me I have a natural ability to…”
What does that tell you about your energy and impact?
3. Reclaim the ‘soft’ stuff as serious value
We’ve been conditioned to think that qualities like nurturing, sensitivity, deep listening, or holding space are “nice to have” rather than central to our power. But they’re often the very qualities that create transformation. In your brand story, talk about how these strengths serve your audience.
Prompt: “One thing I bring to every client interaction is…”
How do your unique personal qualities make your work more meaningful or effective?
4. Rewrite your bio with you at the centre
Instead of listing your achievements and hoping people connect the dots, start with who you are, what you believe, and what you’re here to do. Then back it up with experience, not the other way around.
You'll no longer feel you have to prove your worth. You'll simply own it.
It's not just what you do, it's how you do it
There’s a special kind of power that comes from seeing your own story in a new light; from recognising that the things you once thought made you “less professional” or “too emotional” or “not ready yet” are actually the things that make you a deeply impactful, intelligent, and trustworthy leader or service provider.
That’s what I help my clients do. Together, we uncover the through-lines in your story that show who you are and why that matters. We reframe the parts you’ve dismissed or minimised. We build your message not just around what you do but around the wisdom and perspective that only you can bring.
And every time, I see the same thing: a shift from self-doubt to self-trust. A reclaiming. A softening. A boldness that feels real, not performative. A message that doesn’t just sound good, but feels good to share.
And when you embrace the feminine side of your story — your intuition, your depth, your humanity — you don’t just create a better brand for yourself, you give others permission to do the same.
If you're sitting on an un-told story or hiding behind professional highlights and hard evidence, I'd love to help you see your strengths and story in a new light. Reach out, and let's chat.
